Professional Development Funding

The Hubbard School may grant a student funding for professional development conferences or workshops, regional or national competitions, and professional organization membership fees. Students may receive up to $250 for local opportunities, and up to $1,000 for national opportunities. This grant is designed to cover registration fees, travel, or other expenses related to professional development. 

Eligibility
+ Open to undergraduate students 
+ Must have a declared major in the Hubbard School 
+ Must be enrolled the semester of the conference (for summer opportunities, students must be enrolled the previous semester) or for the year of the membership
+ Conference or opportunity must be connected to a professional organization aligned with the student’s major
+ Students will only be funded for one national opportunity and one local opportunity

Application 
+ Students must submit an application to be considered for funding
+ Use this budget template that is required for the application 

 

Deadline 
Please have your application submitted at least 8 weeks prior to your event. This will ensure that your application will be reviewed in a timely manner.

Can I receive funding for my study abroad program through this application?

No. This application is only for professional development opportunities as listed in the description
Can I get reimbursed for things I have already paid for?
Unfortunately, we are unable to process reimbursements. Please submit your application prior to paying for expenses so that we can pay them on your behalf. 
If I just found out about this event less than 8 weeks prior to the date, can I still apply for funding?
Yes you can still apply, we would just ideally like your application to be processed sooner rather than later.
