Journalists and strategic communicators need to see stories from all angles to do their jobs effectively. And while college classes can open eyes and expand boundaries, nothing beats experiencing a different country, culture or media landscape. That may be why on average Hubbard School students study abroad more than students in any other department in the College of Liberal Arts (except for Spanish & Portuguese Studies).

About the Learning Abroad Center

The Learning Abroad Center (LAC) offers semester, academic year, winter break and May/summer term international study programs. Early planning and systematic consultation with advisors in the Learning Abroad Center and the department is key to assuring that you:

  • Find the right study abroad program for you
  • Meet application or scholarship deadlines
  • Plan and apply appropriate courses to take abroad to fulfill your major/minor and/or liberal education requirements

Paris Grabeel
Strategic Communication, BA 2019

It was an incredible experience meeting professionals in another country and learning about the work they do. I was able to connect what I learned from them with what I learned in my coursework.
