Graduate Minor in Mass Communication

Get a graduate minor in Mass Communication. Our MA and PhD minors are open to all graduate students enrolled in other departments at the University of Minnesota.

M.A. Minor in Mass Communication – Take six credit hours at the 5xxx or 8xxx level.

Ph.D. Minor in Mass Communication – Take twelve credit hours at the 5xxx or 8xxx level (at least six hours have to be at the 8xxx level). You must have a Hubbard School faculty member on your preliminary exams committee.

Minor field coursework must be selected in consultation with the Mass Communication Director of graduate studies. Inclusion of 4xxx-level courses on minor programs is subject to approval by the Director of Graduate Studies.

Graduate Minor in Political Psychology

The study of political psychology centers on understanding how leaders and ordinary citizens make political judgments and the consequences these political judgements have for the broader political system.

Why choose this minor program?
Students in our minor program have a strong interest in this rapidly growing and influential area of scholarship. Political Psychology involves research on political belief systems, political attitudes and behavior, emotion, political information processing and cognition, and biopolitics.
