Students Gain Skills at Reporting Boot Camp

The Hubbard Reporting Experience offers a real newsroom feel.

This August, 22 journalism students have the opportunity to participate in an immersive, full-time, hands-on, brand-new opportunity to cover the news as it’s done in professional newsrooms. During an intensive three weeks, and coached by Hubbard School instructors Marissa Evans, Gayle Golden, Scott Libin, Regina McCombs, Sara Quinn, and Seth Richardson, students are learning everything from newswriting and broadcast to photojournalism and graphic design. They publish stories every day, and at the end of the 10-day program, which takes place in Murphy Hall, students receive a stipend.
