Interview

With which organization did you intern?

Warner Bros. Pictures

Where is it located?

Los Angeles, CA

How did you find out about the internship?

I did a lot of independent research and was eventually referred to the internship.

What were your responsibilities?

I was a Television Marketing Intern working in the family and animation department. I handled brand management across Warner's extensive catalog of top franchises in the category.

What did you most enjoy?

I loved networking at the company, meeting other interns, and exploring a new city. Being on the lot where they film some of today's most popular TV shows and movies was also a huge perk.

What is something that you learned from your internship experience?

I learned how to position myself for success within a company. I was able to network with many executives across departments to gain important connections for my career. I also learned about the post air date marketing process for television: both new release and catalog, for dramatic, comedy, and family titles.

How will your internship help you in your future studies/career?

I want to move out to Los Angeles and work at a large media organization, so gaining connections at WB was incredible.

What's one piece of advice you would give other students about securing an exciting internship?

Start small and work hard. You have to show people a diligent work ethic and build a connection base before you can get referrals and/or interviews at larger companies.
