Silha Center director Jane Kirtley will address Minnesota’s Advisory Committee on the Rules of Criminal Procedure in public hearing February 25, 2022

The hearing will consider whether the current requirements in Minnesota’s Rule 4 of the General Rules of Practice regarding the audio and visual coverage of district court criminal proceedings should be modified or expanded.

On Friday, February 25, 2022, Silha Center director Jane Kirtley will address Minnesota’s Advisory Committee on the Rules of Criminal Procedure in a public hearing regarding whether the current requirements in the state’s Rule 4 of the General Rules of Practice authorizing audio and visual coverage of district court criminal proceedings should be modified or expanded.  
 
The hearing will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and will be held via Zoom.  Professor Kirtley will be joined by:

  • Hal Davis, Minnesota Coalition on Government Information
  • Joe Spear, Minnesota Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists
  • Hon. Lois Conroy, Minnesota District Judges Association
